I have two SLES10sp1 boxes.  On one of them, the start/restart mysql service in the WRE console says mysql is stopped when it is actually running.  The start button therefore doesn't work (since it's already running) and the restart button does restart the service, but an error message shows on the webpage, 'mysql did not start correctly' or something such.

On my other box (they were both cloned from the same VM; they have exactly the same packages installed on them), it works fine.  

Very strange.

I can't fix this without more information. We need to find out why it's bombing, because it does appear to be working on my SLES box. I'm wondering if maybe the port number in the wre.conf on the box that doesn't work is wrong. Or maybe it's pointing to the wrong mysql hostname. Could you see what you can find about why it's not working and report back?

Thanks, JT.  In the hurry to get this up and running I did a sensible
thing from one point of view--delete the VM and create a new one--but
now the problem is not reproducible for me either.

Sorry.  I should have kept it around to test further, unless it was
totally anomalous to my system.

I now have two machines that are working splendidly with 0.8.1 on SLES,
so I'm guessing you can delete this bug.
