In user profiling, Time Zone default value is 'America/Chicago'. Making a change to this field loses the Time Zone drop down completely from user profiles.

To reproduce:

  1. Edit the Time Zone field in User Profiling.
  2. Change default value to 'Europe/London'.
  3. Edit a user, go to their profile, notice Time Zone has no drop down next to it any more.
  4. Editing Time Zone field again, even setting back to 'America/Chicago' has no effect. Can't get it back!

Please try going back into the User Profiling area, and setting the default to be:

[ 'Europe/London' ]


Note the brackets and quotes.

See if that fixes it.

I've put quotes around it every time, and every time the brackets are automatically added by WebGUI; no joy I'm afraid.
