We are preparing to change the site layout. Web designer has prepared template which I uploaded into Import node and set up test page with the new template. Now I would like to give him access to that template (and associated files) so he can edit them. When he logges in and clicks Admin Console > Assets he get Permission denied error. Unless I make him member of the Admin group. But then, if I understand it right, he can change anything. Membership in Secondary Admin or Template Managers and/or Content Managers does not help.

I can not figure what I did wrong. Or, is thete another way how he can edit his files?

M.

What is his user interface level (in the users profile)? That maybe causes the problems.

Otherwise, I would look to the security settings of the folder in which the templates are and for certainty the templates themselves.

By default it is Level 5. Even Leven 9 does not help. Security settings are: view/everyone, edit/turn admin on. It seems to me fine.

Just to be sure that my local setup is not broken somehow I tested it on demo and beta demo with the same results.

In case anyone is interesting:

Logins are admin:123qwe and test:123qwe

I see that the canEdit variable must be true, otherwise the permission denied screen is shown. So it is about permissions and your user must be in the group that is allowed to edit the object.

I think I'll have to deepen my knowledge on the webgui groups to know exactly what those are allowed or not.

I'm not sure if I understand it right. By canEdit you refer to variable in source code? I could not find it neither in config files nor elsewhere. That user has privilege (Owner and Who can edit) to edit his template but Asset Manager still says permission denied.

If not, what should I as Admin do on fresh installation of WebGUI to allow new user access to his template (in Import node) via Asset Manager?

canEdit is a template variable, it can be that the folder "beneath" the template has other settings and therefor does not show the assetmanager, maybe you can try that

Thank you. Now I finally understand my mistake.
