Some webmail providers seem to have problems with WebGUI activation links. I know at least that the problem exists with web.de and GMX - two of the biggest mail providers in Germany. It appears that semicolons in activation links are converted to utf character codes. Or maybe, they are not re-converted from character codes present in the original message?

This is a link that has been sent to me by one of our users:

It is an exact copy of the text that appears in the address line of the browser after having clicked on the link in the message.

I suppose, an easy workaround could be to add an additional rewrite rule to the modproxy configuration? Can someone confirm that this is possible?

Bernd,

I'd think that the url is valid and that WebGUI should be parsing it correctly. My suspicion is that wG is not doing URL decoding, but I am not sure where to look in the codebase for how it handles url's. I'd post a bug report.

In the meantime, I suspect you could find a rewrite example that could change the '%3b' to ';'. Let us know how it goes.
