That's a good question.  Based on your script, I would say that it's the WebGUI.conf file, but since you pasted I don't think that's the case.

I'd be curious to see what happened if you took a config file from one of the other systems that is working fine, alter the database and password stuff as necessary and see if you continue to have problems.

Well, it is official.  It is not WebGUI at all.  I did a brand new install of WebGUI, created a brand new database, used the default configuration file that comes with WebGUI and still had the same problem.  All fingers now point to Config::JSON.

What version of Config::JSON do you have installed?

JSON Version 2.07
Config::JSON Version 1.1.4.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that WebGUI was involved here at all.  My mistake!

There is something in the JSON::from_json or deeper that makes it fail.  I am at work so I really can't check it out right now but I may be able to play around with it tonight.

OK, you are not going to believe me or like me very much.  The entire problem was a line I missed in the apache configuration file!

I forgot to:

PerlSetVar WebguiConfig myconfig.conf

As soon as I did that it started working fine.

I am sorry for wasting your time this way but thank you for your help.
