WRE build problem on FC7

I tried building the WRE on FC7 last night, and got this error:

 Writing /data/wre/prereqs/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto/GSSAPI/.packlist
Appending installation info to /data/wre/prereqs/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i686-linux/perllocal.pod
  /usr/bin/make install UNINST=1 -- OK
*** GSSAPI successfully installed.
*** Module::AutoInstall installation finished.
Writing Makefile for Authen::SASL
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.
WRE ERROR: Authen-SASL-2.10 make did not complete successfully.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

/data/wre is not completely built, it's missing lots of directories and files.

You are trying to compile WRE 0.8.2 I presume?

Are you using a fresh FC7 install? (I think not, but if so, why didn't you take FC8 instead?)

It is a 32bit installation? There are known problems with compiling 64bit perl.

No, 0.8.1.  .2 isn't available yet.

No, it's an up to date FC7.  FC8 has install problems that they require hacking the installer.  I'll wait 'til 9.

Nope, 32-bit intel.
