Hi, have been trying to install WRE 0.8.1 tonight.. no succes..
- clean install WRE 0.8.1 (on the box has ran WRE 0.7.2, so DNS etc is ok) - followed the wiki as much as possible, automatic install - added a site - started the webservers and spectre in the right order (beginning at the top) - all but spectre starts
[root@server sbin]# wreservice.pl --start --verbose spectre Start S.P.E.C.T.R.E.: "to_json" is not exported by the JSON module Can't continue after import errors at ../lib/Spectre/Cron.pm line 22 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ../lib/Spectre/Cron.pm line 22. Compilation failed in require at ../lib/Spectre/Admin.pm line 25. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ../lib/Spectre/Admin.pm line 25. Compilation failed in require at spectre.pl line 16. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at spectre.pl line 16. FAILED!
Manual install on the console screen doesn't work either.. It's getting in a loop, every time you get back to the console install screen "manual or automatic" When you start installing the first time - with manual install - you get this error:
Configuring Apache. Configuring WebGUI.
Error: Unable to open '/data/WebGUI/etc/log.conf.original': No such file or directory -----------------
[root@server sbin]# perl spectre.pl --test "to_json" is not exported by the JSON module Can't continue after import errors at ../lib/Spectre/Cron.pm line 22 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ../lib/Spectre/Cron.pm line 22. Compilation failed in require at ../lib/Spectre/Admin.pm line 25. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ../lib/Spectre/Admin.pm line 25. Compilation failed in require at spectre.pl line 16. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at spectre.pl line 16.
It seems that 7.5.1 beta is getting installed. (I actually want 7.4.22) I've tried as well to update JSON and Config::JSON, just after unpacking and setEnvironment. Thats doesn't work, wreconsole is not JSON 2.xx and Webgui 7.5.1 not 1.xx ?!?
- Have added the hostname from WRE in /etc/hosts - I choose in spectre.conf port 81 instead of 80 - Firewall ports are open
What can I try more?
Almost every error I see seems to be related to JSON etc somehow...

Great! latest available version is now 7.4.23-stable instead of the beta..
Have tried to install it again.. Came a long way.. But something small is not ok.
Putty: unpack wre Putty: set environment Putty: wreconsole.pl Browser: auto install Browser: add site Putty: perl cpan.sh force install Config::JSON (followed JSON) Putty: perl setenvironment.pl Putty: perl testEnvironment.pl Browser: Start service 2,3 and 4 Browser: Entering the site.
I can: - Upload our logo to the site. - Add a CS Photo gallery, and add photos to it.
I can't: - Add a picture to an article (via upload/media/select, no preview either)

Had similar problem on Suse Enterprise. Made a few modifications to wreconsole.pl, have to test if all works well now. Mods are (italics=old, bold=new, #=linenumber): #20 use JSON qw(objToJson jsonToObj); #20 use JSON qw(to_json from_json); #312 my $configOverrides objToJson($config->get("webgui/configOverrides"), {pretty => 1, indent => 4, autoconv=>0, skipinvalid=>1});
#312 my $configOverrides = to_json($config->get("webgui/configOverrides"), {pretty => 1, indent => 4});
#547 $config->set("webgui/configOverrides", JSON::jsonToObj($cgi->param("webguiConfigOverrides"))); #547 $config->set("webgui/configOverrides", JSON::from_json($cgi->param("webguiConfigOverrides"))); #1023 my $collectedJson = $cgi->param("collected"); #1023 my $collectedJson = $cgi->param("collected") || "{}"; #1024 my $collected = JSON::jsonToObj($collectedJson); #1024 my $collected = JSON::from_json($collectedJson);
#1029 $collectedJson = JSON::objToJson($collected); #1029 $collectedJson = JSON::to_json($collected); Please let me know if this is ok! Cheers, Roel.

Hey - wanted to see if you'd found a work around for this error. I am trying to run the WRE as well, and up until a few weeks ago, it used to install flawlessly every time. Now, I always get stuck on the same JSON errors you were showing. I would LOVE to see the solution to this, if you found one. Does it really have to do with the WRE downloading the beta version? Is there a way to make it download the stable one instead? That seems silly that it wouldn't download the stable one automatically! ~Adam

Get yourself a copy of the new WRE 0.8.3 that just came out. It solves all these problems.

Fixed it.. finally back on track ;-)
Went a backup-step back.. Just a couple of articles missing.. no big deal..
- install backup 7.3.18 with WRE_0.7.2 - upgrade wg to 7.3.22 - upgrade wre to 0.8.0 - upgrade wg to 7.4.21 - upgrade wre to 0.8.3 - upgrade wg to 7.4.25
