Would be great to have the option to set the default language to each asset
with the option to override the user profile setting or not and
a option that Language is asset specific only or overrides all languae settings for the whole asset container (Page Layout, Folder, ...) .
The standard user is visitor and he has one default language for the whole site. If you have assets in different languages e.g. English, German, French, Spain in three of four cases the visitor has internationalized content mixed up with his profile language setting (An asset with French text and the English "Read more" link to the next page). Some things can be solved with hard coded language in templates but this lags a lot of flexibility.

This isn't going to happen. You can type your content in one language, but it is still the user's preference as to what they prefer to see the UI in.
And that's only a bad thing. If you setup a multi-language site, when you display a content in a given language you need to display the user interface in the same language.
This is really basic usability and common sense, every CMS out there that is said to support i8n has this option. How hard can it be?
