Hi, I'm JT and these are my thoughts on community, content management, Plain Black, and WebGUI.
Here we are a full week after April fools day, and we're still getting sales calls asking when the new PHP version of WebGUI is coming out. So I must officially kill it. There never was any version of WebGUI that was ever coming out in PHP. It was a joke, for the purposes of April fools day only.
Apparently too many people read headlines and not the actual content of the story. So once and for all, there is no version of WebGUI written in PHP, and there never will be.
For those of you thinking there should be a version written in PHP, you're thinking too hard. Unless you're writing code against it, then you shouldn't need to care what it's written in. And if you're writing code against it, then I suggest hiring professional Perl developers. You'll get a much better system for your dollar.
I'm sorry for confusing some people on this issue. Apparently I'll have to make my future April fools posts a bit more off the wall to make them more obvious.
Here we have the essence of a perfect April Fools invention for the new media age. The presenter is known for his no-nonsense approach to decision-making, expressed in his knowledge and opinion. He presents a declaration so outrageous that any person with any knowledge of the man, or his topic, would figure out the context and delight in the humor.
It is so unfortunate that facts are such a transitory feature of news. Information is picked up and passed on based upon the slightest of impression. Reading between the lines is clearly a lost art when there is news to distribute, faithful or not to it's original intent. Capturing attention must apparently ride with neglect, leaving journalist integrity behind in the muddy road.
I not only enjoyed the original posting, but the journalistic reaction and necessity for the author to redact the posting due to the irresponsible coverage makes me roll on the floor laughing.
Oh no. Don't make them more obvious! Let's see how far you can go! Next year announce Bonsai JT as a variant on Bonsai Kitten. We'll make pictures on the next WUC while we try to get you into a soda bottle with the aid of an Alessie shoehorn.
Kind regards,
Arjan Widlak
