In the SQL statement that generates the results to be displayed, you have the following syntax in the WHERE clause:

   AND  DATEDIFF(Event.startDate|Event.endDate, CURDATE()) >= 0

We are getting unexpected output and I am trying to understand what this clause is doing. The pipe symbol does a bitwise OR which is an operation that I am not familiar with. Can you explain your logic in using this operator?
