OK, I'm developing the New version for the FathersRightsNetwork.net (previously known as www.abs-comtpech.com/frn/frnhome.html).

What I am looking for is the ability to display a thumbnail preview of a WebLog that is elsewhere on the site.  I also want to do the same for a 'News' section as well.

Now I've reviewed the Dashboard Asset, but this practically mandates a full page presentation on the website.  I would like to manage the front page assets, and then (using a two column style layout) place the preview on the right side column.

Can this be accomplished in WebGui?

Try using either a SQL Report and making custom queries against the assets that you want to "preview", or better yet, try looking at the Shortcut Asset, and then using a custom template to override the default.

I am using 7.4.21-stable, I do not see a shortcut asset.  That does sound interesting though.

In the editing toolbar for the Asset there are 6 icons.

Class icon: Which type of Asset am I?

X: Delete this Asset

Edit: Edit this Asset

Cut: Cut this Asset to the clipboard

Copy: Copy this Asset to the clipboard

Swoosh: Create a Shortcut of this Asset and put it in the clipboard.

Now, can it take me to the main asset if I click on it (I'm asking because I click on the duplicate, but nothing is happening.).

 

Also, can I control how much is displayed in the duplicate?
