I found the thingy_spec.pdf in this post. Is there perhaps an updated version of that spec or is that the spec that Yung has been building Thingy accordingly to.
I have been taking an extensive look at Thingy and the way it is now in 7.5.10 and I have been posting some bugreports and feature requests.
Is building it according to spec open for discussion? I'm very curious as to why certain things have been implemented differently and how that effects the final way that Thingy will be.
For example, why is there not a 'view' that shows all entries as I thought to have read from the spec. Which I posted in this bug.

Yes there was a slightly different version of the spec that I gave to Yung when I hired him to write it. I think he did a fine job implementing the spec and he's been paid for his work. So if you'd like something to work differently in Thingy continue submitting RFEs.

I'd like to help making Thingy better in the beta fase, even before the feature freeze goes in. It's easier to test Thingy if there is a spec that you can use to see if it works as it should work.
Is the final spec not up for public viewing?

The final spec is only in contract form and it's very close to the public spec that you already have.

Fair enough, I don't have to see the contract.
Can you tell us the significant changes to the spec if there are any?
And perhaps the reason why they were changed?

I will have a look at the specs that have been posted earlier. I'll post a list of differences that i'm aware of, later this week. But i can't guarantee i'll notice each and every difference, of course.

As far as i can tell, these are the significant changes:
- ThingId's and fieldId's can contain '-' (dashes). The Collateral methods in Wobject.pm are now quoting table and column names to support this.
- The default view of a Thing can be selected. It can either be it's search form or its add form.
- Each Thingy has a 'default Thing'. The default view that a user gets from Thingy is the default view of the default Thing.
- The labels for 'view' and 'search' on a Thing's view and edit screen have been changed to 'view [ThingName]' and 'search [ThingName]'. View and search links to other Things will also be added to the templates later.
